Hello friends,
I have been living in Kayseri for about four months and I will be there for almost three more months. Whenever I can, especially during the weekend holidays, my friends and I try to get to know the city and visit it. We had the chance to visit many places. I will try to share the fascinating places that attracted my attention with you whenever I have the opportunity. Today, I will talk about the cafe that resembles a museum with historical and artistic artifacts in Kayseri/Talas district.

Yaklaşık dört aydır Kayseri'de ikamet ediyorum ve hemen hemen üç ay daha orada olacağım. Müsait olduğum zamanlarda özellikle hafta sonu tatillerinde arkadaşlarımla birlikte şehri tanımaya, gezmeye çalışıyoruz. Birçok yeri gezme şansımız oldu. Dikkatimi çeken, büyüleyici yerleri fırsat buldukça sizlerle paylaşmaya çalışacağım. Bugün ise Kayseri'nin/Talas ilçesinde bulunan tarihi, sanatsal eserlerin bulunduğu adeta müzeyi andıran kafeden bahsedeceğim.
To tell the truth, we discovered this place by chance about two months ago. While looking for a play-station hall, this place caught my eye. I took my friends to the place by convincing them even if it was difficult. Naturally, we postponed the game business a bit 🙂 🙂
The manager of the place welcomed us with a smiling face. The cafe was empty because it was a bit early. We visited the interior of the place comfortably and took lots of photos. My friends, who were hesitant and reluctant to come here at first, changed their reactions when they saw the historical and artistic works inside and they liked it very much.
Yaklaşık iki ay önce gittiğimiz bu mekanı doğruyu söylemek gerekirse şans eseri keşfettik. Play- station salonu ararken benim gözüme burası ilişti. Arkadaşları zorda olsa ikna ederek mekana götürdüm. Haliyle oyun işini biraz ertelemiş olduk. 🙂
Mekanın işletmecisi bizi güler yüzlü karşıladı. Saat biraz erken olduğu için kafe bomboştu. Mekanın iç kısmını rahat rahat gezip bol bol fotoğraf çektik. İlk başta buraya gelme konusunda kararsız, isteksiz olan arkadaşlarım içerideki tarihi, sanatsal eserleri görünce tepkileri değişti ve onlarda çok beğendi.
After visiting the interior of the place, we couldn't leave without having something to eat and drink. We sat in a suitable place and ordered. We ordered coffee because we thought it was suitable for the texture and structure of the place. The coffees were as good as the artifacts inside. After spending about half an hour here, we paid the bill and left and thanked the staff for their kindness and service. The prices were really reasonable. If I remember correctly, the price of a Turkish coffee with medium sugar was 30 Turkish Liras.
Mekanın iç kısmını gezdikten sonra birşeyler yiyip içmeden çıkıp gitmek olmazdı. Uygun bir yere oturup siparişleri verdik. Mekanın dokusuna ve yapısına uygun olduğunu düşündüğümüz için kahve siparişi verdik. Kahveler de en az içerdeki eserler kadar güzeldi. Burada yaklaşık yarım saat zaman geçirdikten sonra hesabı ödeyerek ayrıldık ve personellere nezaketlerinden ve hizmetlerinden dolayı teşekkür ettik. Fiyatlarda gerçekten çok uygundu. Orta şekerli bir Türk kahvesinin fiyatı yanlış hatırlamıyorsam 30 Türk Lirası idi.
Now I will try to talk about the artifacts that impressed me inside the place. Maybe there were a thousand kinds of artifacts/products inside. What impressed me the most was the vinyl record playing classical music non-stop. It was a really great feeling to listen to the music of the 70s and 80s with coffee.
Şimdide mekanın içerisindeki beni etkileyen eserlere değinmeye çalışacağım. Belki de içeride bin çeşit eser/ürün vardı. Beni en çok etkileyen ise durmadan klasik müzik çalan plak idi. Kahve eşliğinde 70'lerin, 80'lerin müziklerini dinlemek gerçekten harika bir histi.
Another artifact I would like to mention is the "Tape Recorder" from the 70s. I remember when I was little, my grandfather had a tape recorder like this. Sometimes we would even go to him to listen to music. He would load the tape into the tape recorder and turn up the volume all the way. I can't tell you how happy we would be. However, my grandmother would be annoyed by this situation and would get angry with my grandfather. 😅
70'li yıllara ait "Teyp". Küçükken hatırlıyorum dedemin buna benzer bir teybi vardı. Hatta bazen müzik dinleyebilmek için yanına giderdik. Teybin içerisine kaseti yükler ve sesi sonuna kadar açardı. O kadar mutlu olurduk ki anlatamam. Ancak bu durumdan ninem rahatsız olurdu ve dedeme kızardı. 😅
I guess there is no one who grew up in the countryside and is not familiar with the stove. If I remember correctly, I touched on this subject in a previous post. It has many different functions beyond heating. I think the most important one is to be able to cook on the stove easily. While expressing my feelings about the stove, I thought of the winter months. We would brew tea on it and cook potatoes and chestnuts on the stove.
Kırsal kesimde büyüyüp de sobaya yabancı olan sanırım yoktur. Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam daha önceki bir postumda bu konuya değinmiştim. Isınmanın ötesinde birçok farklı işlevleri bulunuyor. En önemliside sanırım sobanın üzerinde rahatlıkla yemek pişirebilmek. Soba hakkında duygularımı ifade ederken aklıma kış ayları geldi. Üzerinde çay demler kuzine de patates, kestane pişirirdik.
Has anyone seen the berets in this picture before? I often come across them in my region. These berets, which are usually worn by the elderly, are used regardless of summer and winter. Isn't it nice that old customs and traditions still continue today?
Bu resimdeki bereleri daha önce gören varmı? Bulunduğum yörede ben sıklıkla rast geliyorum. Genellikle yaşlıların taktığı bu bereler yaz, kış ayırt etmeksizin kullanılıyor. Eski örf- adetlerin günümüzde hâlâ devam etmesi ne kadar güzel öyle değil mi ?
The outside of the place is much simpler than the inside. However, the owner has resorted to different ways to attract attention. And it can be said that he succeeded.
Mekanın dış kısmı içerisine göre çok daha sade. Ancak işletme sahibi dikkat çekebilmek için farklı yollara başvurmuş. Başarılı olduğu da söylenebilir.
There are so many artifacts that it is not possible to cover them one by one. 😅 I hope you will like it too. If anyone is traveling to Kayseri, I recommend them to visit and go on a time travel.
