Fought Back

The crypto space came under some heavy bombardments last year from regulators. At one point the entire space was in a frenzy and the mood of the markets reflected. It cumulated in the stepping down of CZ, Binance CEO. This year has had a bright start primarily because the space has chosen not to accept the imposition of regulators will (to tame it) and has sought out legal means of fighting back. Some battles have gone in our favor, which obviously signals what could be possible when we confront our oppressors head on.

Strategy sessions are always fun. I say so because we make our plans independent of the plans of our competitors. Of course we know they are probably scheming themselves, but without actually being in the field it is difficult to properly ascertain to what extent those schemes actually become effective. It is quite the spectacle to see a clash of two rivals bent on the destruction of one another. Usually it is not as straightforward, as one seems more concerned than the other in destroying the competition.

One of the things competitors take advantage of is the predictability of their competition. If a crooked competitor knows that we're bound by certain ethics and values, it is likely they'll likely be taking full advantage. We see it all the time in the culture and social space, where the group less willing to go to extreme lenghts to push its message will likely be painted with a wrong perception by the other group. In a clash If you're constantly on the defensive side of things you'd most likely lose such a battle. The only way really we give ourselves a fighting chance is when we decide to go on the offensive and sometimes even take our competitors by surprise.

In some cases it is a moral obligation to ensure that we compete and fight back. There is no glory in accepting the perpetual victmhood tag which has been embraced by a significant portion of society today. Companies don't lay down and watch their competitors run them over. The same principle obviously applies to other faucets. Getting beat down without a fight just isn't as powerful a message as people think. Throughout history the surviving cultures, traditions and beliefs stemmed from those who were able to either dominate or resist the aggression of others. Why now accept the same oppressive principle for our individual growth?
