Its week 44 (04/11/23) of my savings focus for 2023 with the Saturday Savers Club which I think is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.
My focus for the rest of the year is:
- My annual HP target of 10K HP,
- Growing my holding of investment tokens,
- Delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts.
This weeks pic - I went to see a band with a few friends on Thursday night called Dirty Sound Magnet. They were incredibly good. Absolutely fantastic musicians. Their music is quite interesting and covers a range of genres with a heavy blues and rock influence with a late 60s psychedelic sound. I'll have to do a post about them for three tune tuesday !

Weekly commentary
- I gained +80 HP this week, which is pretty good because I hadnt posted much the week before, so I was very lucky to get that much, although the low price of HIVE helped. Its interesting to see the price of HIVE increasing of late (as per the increases in BTC) - this will lower our HIVE post payouts, although at $0.35, those payouts are still pretty good. It will be interesting to see how the price of HIVE moves over the coming months as many people are hoping for a bull market considering the price of crypto has been depressed for so long. But is that just hope and hype because they want it ? Who knows,
- My HP total is now 9496 HP. This time last year I had 2262, so have gained 7234 HP over the last year,
- I need a further 504 HP to hit my year end 10K HP target, which at 8 weeks to go requires 62 HP per week (down 2 per week). 62 HP a week is very achievable, and I know I have some good post payouts coming next week, so I'm pretty confident of hitting the 10K target in the next 2-4 weeks, which will be great
- I delegated another +7 HP to @curie to bring that total to 100 HP, and then started delegating to @ocdb as well (another great community curation project) - starting with a 26 HP delegation,
- I gained +2.61 EDS, with my 2010 HP delegation to @eds-vote brining in +1.19 EDS of that gain last week. I wont hit my year end target of 100, but I'll get close. I'm really happy how this is going, because its working away passively by itself, and as my EDS amount grows, so do my weekly Hive drop from the EDS project on a monday. That HIVE drop is not huge, but its growing, and it all helps,
- I gained +2.276 DAB this week brining my total to 29. That was quite a bit more than last week, so I guess I got lucky in the mining lottery. These are still going for around 4 HIVE each on Hive-engine, so thats quite a nice passive weekly income,
- I gained +2 DBOND taking my total to 704. I'm happy with how this is simply growing passively via its synergy with my staked DAB,
- I gained +5.368 DRIP this week. I sweated some of my other income streams and later 2 tokens to buy some of that. I really like this project from @hivedrip and the APR is quite high at the moment, and I will continue to buy more in bits and pieces over the coming weeks,
- I also gained a further +9.473 PWR tokens from my HP delegation to @empo.voter, and what I have in the PWR:swap.hive pool. My PWR total continues to build nicely, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this project develops over time,
- I also had 4 HBD:HIVE flipping trades go through. The recent HIVE price rise has brought it back into my trading range (just). The gains were pretty low, but they are gains !
Plan for the coming week
- To continue to make sure I post daily/regularly to ensure daily HBD and HIVE author rewards,
- To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards,
- To continue to increase undelegated HIVE in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
- To get back into more HBD:HIVE flipping now that the price has risen a bit,
- This weeks delegation of 15% of my weekly HP income (12 HP) will be going to @ocdb, as part of my project to support community curation accounts via HP delegation. I've lowered my delegation amount from 20% to 15% of weekly income, as I need to increase my undelegated HP amount in order to improve my curation income and upvote value - its too low due to all of the delegations I have in place,
- I'm keen to increase my stack of DRIP, and will continue to buy more over the coming weeks in small amounts here and there,
- I've started saving 1-2 HBD a week as the next offering coming from the DAB/DBOND project is the DAB Club Token which will cost around 30 HBD. I really like this project from @dailydab , so I will be getting one. So I have started putting some HBD away weekly towards that - although a release date hasnt been given yet,
- I will be selling HBD payouts from posts for HIVE in order to power up more towards my annual HP target, especially while the price of HIVE is so low - its making quite a difference to that target at the moment.
In summary, its been a good week - not especially special, but good. I was glad to buy some more DRIP as the staking rewards are quite impressive, so its great to see that growing. Although not recorded above I also delegated some HP to @zingtoken in order to get in on that new project. The APRs are quite amazing and the staking tool is as slick as they get (you can find it here) - plus the project has a really good team behind it, so I think it will do well.
