Cent Community! Let's Discuss Irrelevant Content

in #hive-173575last year

Update: Our tribe has become catering to general content.

Hello there. It's been five days since I started the Cent tribe. I started the prize pool two weeks ago. Recently, I added the 'economy' tag to the scan list. Now you can also use this tag in your content. I thought for a while before I started writing on the subject. "I wonder if I'm acting too early". But the sooner we start, the better. Getting started with less content will make things easier. I'm talking about the topic at the beginning. As you know, our community's focus is the economy. Most of the content comes within our scope for now. There is also a little bit of irrelevant content. But this will increase over time.

I usually vote 1-5% for irrelevant content. If I like the content a lot, this rate may increase a little. But I want to spend most of the voting power in the community focus area. I don't know how right I am in my thinking. I think the less incentivized the irrelevant content gets, the less it will count in the community. I think this behavior will also attract people who are interested in economics and its sub-branches. Because the less upvotes the irrelevant content gets, the more the focused content will get. I think those who share irrelevant content should be kindly warned through comments. If we as a community can agree on this, I can create an incentive.

I would be glad if you share your views on the subject I mentioned. I'm sure better solutions will be found regarding irrelevant content. I didn't think about the downvote until now. Maybe we can use it to block stolen content.

See you.

If the shared content uses the hashtag 'cent' or the post was made in the Cent community;
"Hi. Thanks for sharing. However, your post is not related to the Cent community. The Cent community focuses on the 'Economy' area. You can use the Cent hashtag and Cent's community page for your posts on the topic of economy."

The prize pool also scans the 'economy' tag. However, it is a generic label. Sure, alert notifications can be shared, but it's not a dedicated hashtag for the Cent community.

I have seen many publications here about sports, I think that with a warning and not voting on it is enough

You are right. I'm voting low for now. I'm going to start posting a warning message. We need to give people the opportunity to learn. I will not vote for irrelevant content later.

@anadolu, you were given LUV from @andy4475. About LUV: https://peakd.com/@luvshares

It would be appropriate to warn with a comment for a while. Instead of downvoting, I think it would be more appropriate if content unrelated to the economy is not voted on. The downvote might be heavy for now.

I'll take it upon myself to give a polite comment to irrelevant content as much as possible. But keeping up with all of them can be difficult. Good luck with.

Thank you for your participation. The comment seems to hold the idea. I am also against giving negative votes at the beginning stage. Because this will drive people away from the community. Thanks also for your contribution.

How this community will be different from Leofinance.(a already existing community) , look like Cent is focusing on very narrow spectrum of topics.

Hello there. Thank you for your participation. On the contrary, economics is a very broad field. Finance is a sub-topic. The economy includes many topics from home economics to the global economy, from agriculture to tourism, from democracy to finance. Waiting for your content. Thank you again.

HIVE seems to be suffering a problem with tag spam. A large number of users seem simply drop all of tags for the top earning tokens in every post.

This means that the tribal sites are all being flooded with irrelevant content.

I looked at several accounts engaged in tag spam. They seem to dump both the tokens and the HIVE that they earn by dumping the tokens.

Steps to reduce irrelevant content will both improve the community, it will also reduce the negative effects of tag spam.

Thank you for participating. Also for sharing your thoughts. The warning method seems to solve the problem. Negative votes often start a war.

Yes, agree with you on the warning method and should not apply the downvote first. And the tribes also need to care about their UV as well. If some topics are not relevant to the tribes' topic, should not UV.

Thanks for participating. As a result, we have decided to publish a warning comment. We will warn several times and stop voting. We do not downvote irrelevant content. But we can choose not to upvote.

I just read this article @anadolu and then made a new post to the Cent Community, which I think fits well with the content theme you are looking for. If you don't agree with my content then please let me know 😎

Sending you... !LUV + !PIZZA + !BBH

Because this is such an awesome post, here is a BBH Tip for you. . Keep up the fantastic work

If it is better to warn before giving a negative vote, from now on many will enter the community with publications irrelevant to the subject, but the solution to that is sojo make a friendly comment explaining the theme of the tribe

It is better than giving a negative vote, that is what I do with the posts that I see in the Musicforlife community, if I see irrelevant posts I leave a friendly comment to the creator, greetings friend

Greetings. Thank you for your participation. I edited the text as you mentioned. And I added it above. We can review and expand. Also thanks for the idea.

A very polite but pointed comment to the effect the content is irrelevant plus a reminder of what constitutes appropriate conduct should suffice.

I might suggest one "standardized" answer for all of us to use for conformity reasons. However, do we resort to the "downvote" following one warning? Two? This as well should be uniform among community members.

I am all for this initiative. The announced "content" was the impetus for my joining and providing further support for this Community.

Thanks for participating. The idea of warning with a comment and showing what is true sounds good. Downvotes should only be used on stolen content. Only if the content is proven to be stolen. Thank you for your contribution and support.

Good discussion point, I think maybe narrow down on what is acceptable in the group and what isn't. Are topics broad and open or must they be direct?

Thank you for participating. We can keep the field quite large. For example; Sports has nothing to do with our topic. However, we are interested in issues such as investments in sports and the economic management of teams. In other words, the shared subject must have a connection with the economy, even from afar.

I agree.
Thank you

Sounds good, I have just bought some. Let's see how it goes.

Welcome

O0o0o0o I might need to match you and buy 5000

I'm happy I came over to the CENT frontend and found this post or I might of been putting content that doesn't belong in the Tribes tag. I'll keep a closer eye on what I use the tag on from here on out. I think you are on the right track with giving a warning or two before downvoting. A friendly warning/convo can solve a potential negative incident before it even starts. I would also suggest considering the time frame between warnings.

Thank you for participating. I will heed your warnings. After all, our goal is not to give negative votes to people's posts. We want content consumers to find what they're looking for easily.
